Through the Climate Change Impact Response Framework, EDCF systematically manages climate risks by profiling each project during the identification stage, incorporating comprehensive mitigation and adaptation assessments.
Based on the Project Concept Paper (PCP) and the Climate Risk Checklist submitted by partner countries, EDCF conducts a preliminary review to define the scope of work for integrating the Climate Change Impact Response Framework into the Feasibility Study (F/S). In alignment with the framework, F/S consultants perform rigorous climate due diligence, developing comprehensive risk assessments, strategic reduction plans, and data-driven performance indicators.
Subsequently, project executing agencies ensure that agreed reduction plans are integrated into the design, construction and operational phases. EDCF maintains continuous oversight of compliance and evaluates the effectiveness of mitigation measures post-completion through predefined performance indicators.
