The Export-Import Bank of Korea (www.koreaexim.go.kr, Chairman Yong Hwan Kim, “ Korea Eximbank”) will host the 5th EDCF* Camp from August 23 to 25 for 60 Korean undergraduate and graduate students at the Korea Eximbank HR Development Center in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.

*Economic Development Cooperation Fund

Korea’s accession into the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) in November 2009 and successful conclusion of the Fourth High Level Forum in Busan in November 2011 have increased public interest in ODA*.

*Official Development Aid

To nurture even greater interest and expand knowledge about ODA among students, Korea Eximbank launched the EDCF camp.

A variety of events will be held during the course of the camp such as group discussions about EDCF support case studies and international development issues. An “ODA Golden Bell” quiz contest will also be introduced.

Students wishing to participate may apply through the Bank’s website (koreaexim.go.kr) or EDCF website (www.edcfkorea.go.kr) by August 16, 17:00. Accommodations and food will be provided to participants free of charge.

Selected students will be contacted by email and those who successfully complete the camp will be awarded certificates of completion signed by the Chairman of the Bank.

A representative of the Bank commented, “The camp will build a foundation for future experts of international development cooperation. We hope students will show great interest in the camp and share innovative and original ideas.”
