Korea Eximbank issued its first comprehensive statistical analysis of Official Development Assistance (ODA).

The Export-Import Bank of Korea announced on May 31 that it issued a statistical sourcebook on current facts and figures regarding ODA of Korea and DAC nations.

* The DAC is a subsidiary of the OECD launched to better assist developing nations. Comprised of OECD members providing ODA, the DAC is also known as the “club of donor countries” or the “group of advanced aid-providing countries.”

Since joining the DAC in 2010, Korea’s ODA contribution in 2011 has exceeded USD 1.321 billion.

Korea is ranked 17th in net disbursements and its ODA/GNI ratio rose over last year’s amount to rank 22nd.

The Bank compiled its sourcebook on ODA to increase public awareness of ODA statistics and assist persons working in ODA-related fields as the Korean government and public institutions increase ODA contributions.

The sourcebook provides an overview of ODA as well as data on current levels of ODA by Korea and other DAC members, Q&A on ODA statistics, and supporting visuals such as graphs and tables to facilitate understanding by the general public.

A representative of the Bank expressed, “The sourcebook will provide comprehensive data on ODA and serve as the basis for formulating ODA policies.”

The Export-Import Bank of Korea was designated by the International Development Cooperation Committee, under the Prime Minister's Office, to oversee the gathering and analysis of statistical information pertaining to Korea’s ODA in October 2010.
